Concrete Trampoline
Concrete Trampoline reigns from the Southside of New Philadelphia and began in the April of 1996. Two kids who have known each other since kindergarten and are the only original founding members, Marc and Quinn decided to start a band one night after a night out in the town when there was jack shit to do. At the time, our buddy Slick showed interest, and said he would play drums. It was agreed and they decided to start the band when Marc got out of the Army and came home from Germany. Quinn had been playing the guitar for about a year, Slick bought an old drum set, and in October of 1996, Marc came home from Germany and started playing bass guitar. The first practice was in November, and through many hours in the garage, CT wrote their first song, "Man's Best Friend." At first, CT started out as a three piece, but because no one liked to sing and play, they decided to try some singers out for a fourth member. However, nothing ever really worked out, and in April 1997, Concrete Trampoline decided to try out a long time friend, whom Quinn and Marc also knew since kindergarten, Brady. All went well, and Brady officially became the fourth member of CT. After spending many hours in the garage, Concrete Trampoline finally played its first show at Colby & Company in Dover in August 1997. From that point on CT has played a countless number of shows and a great thanks goes out to our friends Saucebox, who gave us the opportunity to play with them in the early days and earn some publicity in the Dover-New Phila area.
Slick left the band in the summer of 1998, so CT was left with out a drummer. We inquired and tried a few drummers out, but there was no luck. Finally in the March of 1999, after almost a year off, we struck gold, and found our new drummer, Jay, whom a mutual friend referred us to. Everything worked out great and the rest is pretty much history.
In November of 2001, Brady the Bucket left the band for his own personal
reasons. Quinn is taking over the lead singer role, and we picked up a new
rythmn guitarist, Chewy(Shane Hutchison), who played bass in
Saucebox
for several years and is in a band called
Not the Jacksons.
We play shows as often as we can and where ever we can and we are like one happy family. Concrete Trampoline is a high energy punk rock band that trys to catch the crowds attention by playing catchy songs while putting on an entertaining show on the stage at the same time...because hey, no one likes a dull band who just stands there. We play our own tunes as well as covers. Concrete Trampoline is inspired by many great bands and each member has their own personal musical influences. Now that you have learned a little about us, we would love to see you at a show!!
